Job summary

The Packaging Line Operator position will consist of a rotating first shift (7am-7pm) and second shift (7pm-7am) position and will require occasional overtime and weekend work. Including:

  • Working safely with high-speed manufacturing equipment
  • Operating, maintaining, and cleaning equipment Ensuring product quality through visual inspection and quality assurance checks
  • Continuously maintaining a clean and orderly work environment Working with others in a team-based environment
  • Constantly maintaining a sense of urgency while working to improve waste, quality, and efficiency
  • Shall wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (protected toe shoe/boot, hardhat, hearing protection, and reflective vest)
Requirements:

Summary of essential job functions

This job includes the following duties and any other as assigned by current manager:

  • To ensure Total Customer Satisfaction Follow all safety rules and regulations
  • Setup and Operate packaging equipment
  • Refer to work order package procedural instructions for each assignment before commencing work
  • Assure all work assigned is performed in accordance with specifications, instructions, and requirements
  • Assist in the performance of a variety of manual labor related to production including but not limited to handling, repeated handling, push, pull, lift, assembly, loading and unloading, packing, and palletization of goods.
  • Record specified production information thoroughly and accurately in the work order package.
  • Responsible for seeing that the Customer's product is always in quality condition
  • Complete daily inspections of equipment to be used and keep clean and in good running order
  • Must be knowledgeable on how to use all equipment necessary to complete any task given daily
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the facility inside and out daily
  • Correctly interpret and follow Packaging Instructions:
  • Use correct supplies
  • Correct labels are marked on package
  • Put correct weight in package Be sure overall appearance is excellent Stow in the proper storage areas
  • Responsible for making sure all labels are correct, neat, legible, upright, and parallel to the box or bag
  • Ensure product being transferred is free of contaminants Communicate-let management know about any problems or concerns you may have
  • Immediately acknowledge and/or accept responsibility for damage to product, equipment, etc.
  • Responsible for taking direction from Supervisor and or Lead associate Responsible for any other duties as assigned by Management.

Minimum requirements

  • Must be able to pass an employment and criminal background check, drug test, pre-employment physical and functional capacity test
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to perform duties in an independent manner with minimal supervision
  • Detail oriented

Physical requirements

  • Stand for long periods of time up to 6 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 55lbs (floor to chest) 6 times per shift, but frequently be able to lift up to 35 lbs. frequently, all day
  • Work in extreme hot (above 90 degrees) and cold temperatures (below 40 degrees)Climb stairs up to a height of 10 feet frequently, up to 10 times per shift
  • Frequent walking, stooping, and bending
  • Have the ability to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (protected toe shoe/boot, hardhat, hearing protection, and reflective vest)
