Full Time (40 hours)
Day Shift, 9:30 am - 6:00 pm
Weekend work required
Position Summary:
- Works under the direct supervision of the Team Coordinator and/or Clinical Specialist, and leadership of the Rehab Therapy Services Inpatient Manager
- Uses objective evaluation techniques to assess the Speech, Language, Cognitive, Voice and Swallowing limitations to patients who have developmental, neurological, cardiopulmonary and otlaryngologic disabilities.
- Prescribes and implements a treatment program which is designed to return patients to their maximum level of function.
- Rotates through assigned areas of the department or may have the opportunity to focus on one service area
- Work collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary health care team to maximize patient and team outcomes
- Promotes improvement in service, department and hospital systems to benefit patient care.
- Incorporates and operationalizes the goals and objectives of the Hospital at the site of care.
- Mentors other to promote quality and excellent of care.
Education:
Completion of a Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited academic program.
Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.:
Licensure from State of Maryland, ASHA certification, Current AHA Health Care Provider CPR certification.
Work Experience:
Successful completion of Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellowship
