Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Director of Laboratory Services, manages the outpatient clinical laboratories, assuring reliable, high-quality diagnostic test results, expeditiously delivered to care givers. Assists the Director in planning and evaluating the operational functions of laboratory services. Acts as a liaison between Clinic(s) department teams, hospital departments, and with medical staff.
Required Skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical laboratory science, laboratory operations and medical terminology.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.
- Strong computer skills.
- Technical writing skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all associates/customers.
- Ability to mentor department supervisors in application of hospital/department policies.
- Ability to organize tasks and work independently.
- Ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of others.
- Ability to collaborate with others to attain goals.
- Sound judgment in problem solving. Ability to identify and engage proper resources to resolve problems.
- Proven ability in meeting and maintaining budget goals.
- Comfortable with conflict resolution and negotiation.
- Capable of handling change and stressful situations.
Required Experience:
Work Experience:
Three years of work experience in a clinical laboratory.
Three years management experience required.
License/Registration/Certification:
Registered/Certified Medical Technologist required.
Education and Training:
Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or related field required.
