Job overview:

Schneider is seeking an Operations Research Engineer in Green Bay to use data science and machine learning techniques to analyze clients’ operations and develop recommendations to solve business problems. The Operations Research Engineer will ensure the utilization of appropriate methods, models and tools to create practical solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Create optimization models and technical approaches to solve business issues.
• Develop relationships with clients to understand their practices and meet their business needs.
• Integrate business information and data into appropriate models and tools to support the development of solutions.
• Prepare written non-technical reports and presentations to managers and key decision makers about solutions and recommendations,
• Prepare statements-of-work, project logs, updates and presentations in a clear and concise manner.

Skills and qualifications:

• PhD in operations research, industrial engineering, mathematics or related field, or master’s degree plus two years of relevant experience.
• Background in transportation, logistics, data analysis and warehousing problems and applications.
• Able to build effective business relationships with clients and peers.
• Knowledge of mathematical optimization modeling, linear programming solution techniques and linear programming.
• Able to understand the uses and limitations of statistical and optimization methodologies.
• Knowledge of Python or Java.
• Knowledge of modeling interfaces such as ILOG Concert, DoCPLEX or Gurobipy.
• Knowledge of high-level modeling languages such as AMPL, GAMS or MOSEL.
