ABOUT THE COMPANY:

In 1925 the J. G. Boswell Company planted in California’s San Joaquin Valley and grew to become one of the largest farmers in the world. Boswell produces, processes, and markets tomatoes, Pima cotton, and pistachios. The company has taken its farming tradition and enhances it through innovations in every step of the growing process and has developed many of the new techniques and equipment used in modern farming today.

JOB SUMMARY:

This employee will be responsible for but not limited to: Scheduling and movement of Oil according to customer contracts and requests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:

• Setting up specific schedules with truckers to pick up oil loads.
• Making arrangements with the loaders to coordinate loads vs. truckers.
• Send and receive shipping documents.
• Request trucking rates and be knowledgeable of ocean freight rates.
• Talk with and arrange shipping with steamship lines and freight forwarder.
• Assisting manager in reduction of inventories.
• Communicate with customers/agents to arrange shipping and receiving dates.
• Heavy phone and e-mail duties.
• Create and maintain various spreadsheets for inventory control and shipping schedules.
• Works directly with Marketing, Invoicing, and Loading Departments
• Assists with shipping of other commodities.
• Assist in office reception.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to speak, understand, read, and write English. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
• Must be able to work as part of a team and independently.
• Must be observant, organized, and detailed oriented.
• Must function well in a fast-paced environment.
• Desire and ability to learn.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Experience in shipping and receiving, inventory control, and truck dispatcher/traffic controller is desirable.

Pay Range: $18-20/hr
