    College/Department Information

    The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University, we provide dental education to the next generation of professionals by offering hands-on education through innovative research, patient care, and service. Join other dental providers to improve the oral health of Georgia and beyond. The DCG was founded to provide the people of Georgia with quality dental care by educating students in dentistry. As a patient, you have the option to receive treatment in one of our three different practice models consisting of student clinics, resident care, or in the faculty practice. All dental treatments can be completed by the specialists in our facility. We also serve patients in more than 20 clinics across Georgia.

    Job Summary

    Support and assist the department course director. and the office manager with daily tasks such as: scheduling, data entry, formatting, editing, grading, and posting of any course related materials. Provide customer service to patients, faculty, and students on a daily basis. Maintain proficient user status with Exam Soft and D2L. Assigned direct admin course support to 7 Sophomore courses and to serve as the point of contact for departments sophomore courses. As a back up to the Graduate Prosthosdontic Program Office Specialist, assist the Graduate Prosthodontics Residency Program Director with dally activities of the Prosthodontic Residency Program. Provide administrative support to the Residency program Director and Residents.

    Responsibilities

    The duties include, but are not limited to:
    Day to day operations
    Oversees the day to day operations of Sophomore courses. Organize and oversee the activities of the course to ensure completed work meets required time lines and standards of quality and quantity. Directly supporting Oral Rehab course directors and Sophomore students in the DMD program.
    Schedule Maintenance
    Establishes and maintains the schedule of course support office activities, prioritizes tasks, and ensures that the course directors are aware of the important deadlines related to program activities, Including managing calendars and appointments, composing correspondence /reports, manuals, preparing teaching material and meeting arrangements.
    Data Entry
    Enter and maintain academic grades, registrations and curriculum inventory in Banner. Manage departmental files and academic records. Maintaining flexibility is Important, as priorities can change on a daily basis. Track the ongoing activities of the courses. Responsible for data entry/scanning storage of logs, manuals, and records. Have an extensive knowledge of Axium to maintain patient records, and perform chart audits,
    Clinical Referrals
    Manage clinical referrals for the Sophomore Denture program, duties Include but are not limited to: register, schedule, cancel, reschedule, confirm patients for screenings, retrieval of fax, creating accounts for patients, assisting with screening appointments with faculty members to help determine acceptance to the programs and assignment of students, establish/maintain communication and customer service to patients, their families and referring doctors. Check patients In, answer questions and concerns, Send acceptance and/or rejection letters. Maintain the patient pool for each academic year, manage and track all surgery appointments that are required for acceptance in the program, Run reports to see total number of patients and Status in the program. Work with the Business office to adjust charges on patient accounts as required.
    Spreadsheets
    Creates spreadsheets, Including formulas to organize, display and summarize data. Prepare special reports for department management, college administration and other divisions of the University as requested or required.
    Other duties
    Coordinate and schedule vendors and speakers for "Lunch and Learn" training sessions, assist with setup of catering and use of seminar room and audio visual equipment. Perform any other administrative tasks as requested or assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    Educational Requirements
    Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field may be substituted for experience.
    OR
    High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization is required and a minimum of three years' progressively responsible office support experience.

    Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
    Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
    Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills

    Shift/Salary/Benefits

    Shift: Days/M-F

    Pay Grade: 9

    Salary: Minimum $15.00/hour-Midpoint $16.20/hour

    Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
