Job Duties

The Rappahannock Rapidan Health District’s Fauquier office is seeking a reliable, well-organized Office Support Specialist to handle administrative office operations of its Clinical, Environmental Health and Vital Records program.


Position duties typically include: independently performs a variety of program support duties including interpreting administrative policies/procedures and effectively communicating these to the public; schedules appointments; interviews clients obtaining
required program information; maintains records/files; provides education on program guidelines; performs data entry; records management activities; accepts applications;conducts eligibility screenings; compiles data and conducts research; performs fiscal duties such as collecting and entering payments, reconciling cash and receipts and preparing deposits.

Minimum Qualifications

  • General knowledge of office principles and practices.
  • Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software applications.
  • Ability to interpret and follow established procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Considerable skill in the operation of standard office equipment.
  • Ability to travel to and perform work in all district offices (Warrenton, Washington, Madison, Orange and Culpeper).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma
  • Experience in office setting specific to program area
  • Experience with EHD, EDRS and/or WebVision
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
