Grays Harbor College is accepting applications for two Office Assistant 3 positions at Stafford Creek Corrections Center. This position will provide clerical support for the GHC faculty members and instructional programs at SCCC.

The Department of Corrections contracts with Grays Harbor College, to provide educational services for offenders. This position is located at Stafford Creek Correctional Center (SCCC). Although safeguards are implemented to protect staff, this work will be performed in a correctional facility where the potential for violence exists. Applicants for this position must be able to pass an N.C.I.C. background check, and be cleared to work within a prison. Continued access to the facility is a critical element of employment. SCCC is both a drug-free and a tobacco-free facility for staff and offenders.

Full-time employees will also receive 9.33 hours of vacation leave per month to start, 8 hours of sick leave per month and 3 personal leave days a year. Classified positions at Grays Harbor College have been designated as bargaining unit positions represented by the Washington Public Employees Association, Local 365. The union and the college have a collective bargaining agreement (referred to as the contract) that is posted on the GHC website.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Student enrollment and registration
  • Office support for department
  • Entering and tracking student information in various computer programs
  • Preparing necessary reports
  • Receiving classroom instructional materials
  • Developing and maintaining instructional files
  • Answering requests for program information
  • Occasional monitoring of classroom offenders
  • General clerical support duties

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Two years of increasingly responsible clerical experience OR Equivalent education/experience.
  • Applicants must be knowledgeable in Word and Excel and be willing and able to learn various DOC, GHC and state computer systems.
