ACOS offers a wide array of Outpatient Mental Health Services. Our dedicated and professional staff include Licensed Therapists, Psychologist, Nurse Practitioner, Adult Board Certified Psychiatrists, Gerontologist, Peer Support Specialist as well as an array of Nursing supports. ACOS staff is committed to working with people throughout their lifespan in times of severe challenges as well as through the stressors of daily living. Additionally, staff remain sensitive to all sexual orientations, gender identities and cultural values.

The RN Supervisor provides care to clients who are diagnosed with serious mental illness and possible co-occurring substance use disorder. Work duties include supervision of the Licensed Practical Nurses, and assisting Physicians/Providers with medication management, administration of medication (long acting injections), and monitoring a client’s response to medication. The RN also performs other medically based treatment services as needed. Other services include assisting with linkage to community resources, advocacy, client teaching, supportive counseling, completing referrals, and crisis intervention. The RN will ensure standards are met for discharges and complete quality record reviews and perform medication audits as needed. .Duties also include overseeing management of clients who are on Clozapine to ensure labs are being obtained per schedule and overseeing medication management for our clients who are deaf or hard of hearing. CEPAs of supervised nurses will also be completed yearly and critical job tasks and 6 month evaluations will be completed on new hires

Requirements:

Degree in Nursing or RN specializing in Psychiatric care with one (1) year of experience providing nursing services to the client group. Supervisory experience preferred. Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Health Professionals.

The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
