Primary Scheduled Hours: Full Time Temporary 80 hours per pay period - Day Shift - (Temporary position for minimum 6 months - benefit eligible)


Job Summary:

Provides patient care in the office setting. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Provider, and/or Physician. Maintains regulatory requirements, procedures and standards. Communicates with physicians and team members about patient's clinical condition, including; taking vitals and documenting chief complaint

  • Newport Hospital and Health Services consists of:
    • 24 bed Rural Community Hospital - Trauma Level IV
    • 15 providers Rural Health Clinic
    • 72 bed, high level care, Advanced Assisted Living Facility
    • 42 apartment; low-moderate care level Assisted Living Facility
    • In 2021 we celebrated our 100th year in operation servicing the local members of Newport, WA and the surrounding communities.


Education/Certifications:

Minimum Education:


High School graduate or equivalent.


Required Licensure / Certifications:


Current Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) in State of Washington


Required Experience:


Preferred Qualifications:


Must be certified.

  • Maintain regulatory requirements.

  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate with patients, guests and staff in a courteous, respectful and helpful manner.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides direct patient care, within licensure, under the supervision of a physician. Evaluates outcomes, and consults with other health team members as required. May report to RN, APP or Physician.
  • Ability to assist nursing and medical staff with routine examinations and patient treatments, within licensure.
  • Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient's age.
  • Performs all aspects of patient care, within licensure, in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patients served, with assistance of medical staff.
  • Medical asepsis is carried out during all patient care.
  • Ability to position and prep patients for office procedures, as directed by an APP or Physician.
  • Communicates appropriately and clearly to co-workers, physicians and office leadership.
  • Demonstrates the ability to gather chief complaints and vital signs for office visits, as directed by an APP or Physician.
