Job Description:
Would you like to come to work and give quality care to 6-9 patients a day? Capitol View Transitional Care Center is a state-of-the-art true transitional care unit (TCU) located in Regions Hospital (we are part of the HealthPartners organization as a separate nonprofit organization.) We provide quality care to patients from 18+ years of age who need a short term stay. Our average length of stay is 17 days. As a Nursing Assistant, you will be responsible for providing competent, compassionate, and respectful patient care including:
- Promoting patient independence and focusing on rehabilitation and improvement of patient abilities
- Answering call lights promptly
- Obtaining vital signs as directed by the nurse and reporting out of range vital signs immediately
- Giving scheduled showers/baths
- Water pass and nourishments / snack pass as directed and recording intake amounts
- Completing room set up for new patient admissions
- Passing trays at mealtime and assisting with feeding as needed
- Recording food and fluid intake and output
- Assisting with patient personal laundry; bagging, labeling and bringing to facility laundry or bagging for take home for family to clean
- Charting nursing assistant flow sheet during each shift
- Rounding on patients regularly
- Stocking supplies accordingly (gloves, blankets, etc)
Work schedule: .6 FTE (48 hrs/2 weeks) 2:00 – 10:30 pm with every other weekend.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of a Nursing Assistant course
Must be on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry & must maintain current certification
Preferred Qualifications:
One year experience in a healthcare setting
