Job description
Bachman’s was founded in 1885 and remains a family-owned business, with fifth-generation Bachman family members leading the company today. Bachman’s operates six full-service Floral, Gift & Garden Centers throughout the Twin Cities, a shop in the Galleria, a Hardscapes Center in Farmington, and 28 floral departments within Lunds & Byerlys grocery stores. Additionally, Bachman’s operates indoor and outdoor landscaping divisions, a weddings and special events department, a wholesale nursery division, seven acres of greenhouses, and a 670-acre growing range in Lakeville, Minn., which produces many of the plants, flowers, and landscaping products sold by Bachman’s today.
Job Duties:
- Assist with unloading trucks and organization of nursery product.
- Maintain product by applying fertilizers; weeding, or pruning crops;
- Perform limited equipment operation (i.e. flat tops, bobcat loaders, etc.)
Qualifications:
- 3 months experience working in agriculture
- Must possess ability to perform physical job duties outdoors in a variety of weather conditions for 8-10 hours per day.
- Must possess the ability lift/move 50 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 100 lbs on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to work with plants in a farm setting and work adjacent to or with nursery equipment, agricultural chemicals, and other related agricultural activities.
Schedule:
- 40 hours a week
- Number of overtime hours per week: 0-15
- Hours per day: 8-10
- Hours: 7:00 am to 4:00 pm plus extended hours and Saturdays as needed
- Days: Monday-Saturday
