POSITION SUMMARY:

The Program Manager Nuclear Medicine and Cardiovascular PET/CT will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and is responsible for daily operations and assisting in developing the strategic course for cardiovascular imaging services which includes Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiovascular PET/CT, in alignment with Virginia Heart’s overall strategic & operational plans. This position establishes and implements the goals, standards, and practices that guide and support patient care initiatives while ensuring the delivery of high-value, quality care.

The Program Manager Nuclear Medicine and Cardiovascular PET/CT will provide both direct leadership and support to the lead nuclear technician, as well as the medical and technical staff. The Program Manager Nuclear Medicine and Cardiovascular PET/CT will oversee educational requirements for all clinical and technical imaging service staff and they are responsible for meeting all accreditation and licensure requirements for the various imaging departments and licensure of staff members. In service of our partnership with Inova Health System, the Program Manager Nuclear Medicine and Cardiovascular PET/CT will work in tandem with Inova's leadership of the Cardiac Diagnostic Sites (CDS).

The Program Manager Nuclear Medicine and Cardiovascular PET/CT will support and manage the procurement, training, and delivery of new cardiovascular clinical technology within Virginia Heart, and where applicable, the Inova CDS sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interacts with the Executive Leadership Team and Physician Leadership to develop and establish short-term and long-term strategic & operational plans in support of Virginia Heart's mission, vision, and goals.
  • Identifies high-value systems needed to support the imaging services based upon technology and business trends, resource availability, and changes in provider and patient needs. Establishes effective working relationships with all constituents including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors.
  • Identifies and implements operational and system improvements to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Ensures compliance with Patient Care Quality Standards; directs and participates in Imaging Services planning, marketing, revenue analysis, budgeting education, and human resource management activities.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, standards, protocols, clinical guidelines, documentation systems, and programs that support evidence-based practice.
  • Oversees and maintains all Imaging Services accreditation including Nuclear Cardiology, and Cardiovascular PET/CT.
  • This position is responsible for oversight of multiple locations and requires travel and physical presence on a frequent and as-needed basis.
  • Supports the Practice with clinical applications and technology management, procurement, procedures, deployment, communication, and upgrades, in coordination with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Functions also as Nuclear Medicine Technologist, as needed
  • Other duties, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare field, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Professional imaging technologist experience in Nuclear Medicine which demonstrates a thorough knowledge of cardiovascular imaging procedures and/or techniques.
  • Strong technical and operational knowledge of cardiovascular technology and clinical applications. EPIC experience preferred.
  • Management experience in Nuclear Cardiology industry experience required.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of the current medical practice environment and the key issues facing physicians and administrators including in the financial, regulatory, operational, and strategic arenas.
