Job Summary/Purpose
Responsible for the execution of the licensing and regulatory compliance processes and procedures at Entergy Nuclear.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Communicates technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing.
  • Manages regulatory commitments.
  • Interfaces with the NRC Resident inspectors and inspection teams.
  • Interfaces with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of station.
  • Maintains and implements regulations, including 10CFR50.59 and 10CFR72.48.
  • Submits performance indicator data to the NRC.
  • Prepares, reviews, and approves correspondence to the NRC, including Licensee Event Reports, license amendments, allegation responses, responses to requests for information, and required periodic reports.
  • Develops and revises procedures in accordance with current regulatory and administrative requirements.
  • Coordinates SRC activities.
  • Performs as a liaison between the department and various work groups.
  • Participates in the shared resources program.
  • Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO). Maintains all training and qualifications as necessary to support assigned ERO position.
  • May be assigned a position outside of Regulatory Assurance to support refueling outages.
  • Assignments at Nuclear Headquarters have similar responsibilities
  • Licensing Engineer/Specialist, II or higher: May be assigned a lead role such as PAD/50.59 Coordinator, Fatigue Rule Management System Coordinator, Performance Indicator Coordinator.
  • Licensing Engineer/Specialist, IV or Higher: Attend and represent the station and department at industry conferences, workshops, etc.
  • Licensing Engineer/Specialist, Senior: May be called on to represent the Regulatory Assurance Manager as needed.

Minimum Requirements
Minimum Education
B.S. Degree in Engineering or related technical degree (desired).

Minimum Experience
  • Licensing Engineer/Specialist, I: 4 years commercial or military nuclear experience.
  • Licensing Engineer/Specialist, II: 5 years commercial or military nuclear experience. Minimum 1 year as Regulatory Assurance Specialist/Engineer I (previous experience or demonstration of skills may be credited by responsible manager).
  • Licensing Engineer/Specialist, III: Minimum 1 year as Regulatory Assurance Specialist/Engineer II (previous experience or demonstration of skills may be credited by responsible manager).
  • Licensing Engineer/Specialist, IV: Minimum 1 year as Regulatory Assurance Specialist/Engineer III (previous experience or demonstration of skills may be credited by responsible manager).
  • Licensing Engineer/Specialist, Senior: Minimum 2 years as Regulatory Assurance Specialist/Engineer IV (previous experience or demonstration of skills may be credited by responsible manager).
  • *B.S. Degree in Engineering or related technical degree may be credited for up to 4 years of experience or equivalent work experience.*

Minimum knowledge, skill, and abilities
  • Licensing Engineer/Specialist, I: Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation.
  • Licensing Engineer/Specialist, II: Proficient in knowledge, skills, and abilities of a Regulatory Assurance Specialist/Engineer I.
  • Licensing Engineer/Specialist, III: Minimum 1 year as Regulatory Assurance Specialist/Engineer II (previous experience or demonstration of skills may be credited by responsible manager).
  • Licensing Engineer/Specialist, IV: Proficient in knowledge, skills, and abilities of a Regulatory Assurance Specialist/Engineer III.
  • Licensing Engineer/Specialist, Senior: Proficient in knowledge, skills, and abilities of a Regulatory Assurance Specialist/Engineer IV.

ANSI Required: No

Certificates, licenses, etc. required
Senior Reactor Operator License or certification (desired).
