Network Patching Engineer

Position Overview: Our team is growing and we are looking to hire a Network Patching Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for patching and security vulnerability remediation of network infrastructure for our global enterprise. You'll lead software/IOS patching and security vulnerability remediation efforts for all network infrastructure elements of the enterprise. This is a role that is heavily focused on patching efforts, frequently occurring during the evening. We're looking for someone with a flexible schedule that can primarily work day shift, but be available outside of normal business hours for patching - any evening time worked will be offset with a reduction in time worked during the day.

This position can be entirely virtual/remote/work from home and you can sit anywhere in the US.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize scanning tools to identify systems with security vulnerabilities and missing patches.
• Create and test remediation plans following companies change management protocols.
• Patch and maintain network software and hardware including Cisco routers and switches.
• Patch and maintain Cisco ACI infrastructure and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Perform network infrastructure troubleshooting and patching including F5 load balancers.
• Patch and support Cisco Wireless solution to branch offices globally.
• Patch and support Cisco (WAAS) WAN optimization/acceleration solution to branch offices globally.
• Patching and support Aruba Solution for tele-workers.
• Provide level 2/3 support for VoIP and network related issues tied to patching updates.
• Research unsuccessful remediations with security team and scanning vendor to determine appropriate solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred
• 3+ years of experience with installing, supporting and patching Cisco routers and switches.
• Experience with Cisco DNAC solution for automation and patching.
• Hands on experience with LAN/WAN security solutions including Cisco ISE.
• Experience with deploying, patching and managing Cisco WAAS solution
• Experience with support of Cisco ACI deployment
• Hands on experience with Cisco Firewall ASA 55XX, ASAM and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Working experience with WAN technologies (PTP links and MPLS).
• Working experience with F5 load balancers and GTM.
• Experience with Cisco Wireless products and technologies (WiSM2 and WLC55XX)
• Experience troubleshooting complex LAN/WAN environment problems to resolution in a multi-platform, multi-protocol environment.
• Solid written and oral communications skills
• Flexible off hours patching schedule
• Proficiency with Visio and Microsoft Excel preferred
• CCNA/CCNP Certifications nice to have
