Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, the NDT Tech II performs basic nondestructive testing to verify the structural integrity of metallic and/or nonmetallic structures, uses conventional and automated ultrasonic, radiographic, Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) and other NDT test methods, e.g., FPI, and performs NDT on aircraft parts and evaluate test results by analyzing and interpreting the data in accordance with customer requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Review and implement customer requirements; such as: Engineering Drawings, Process Specifications and other industry standards. Develop and maintain processes, test methodology and procedures. Understand manufacturing methods and part construction, as it relates to the NDT data.
• Other test equipment may include: eddy current scopes and helium mass spectrometers.
• Identify and investigate new technologies, processes and/or procedures to maintain or improve NDT capabilities, efficiencies, etc.
• Interface with engineers, internal & external customers, manufacturing personnel and management to improve processes. Provide guidance, leadership and instruction to other NDT technicians.
• Integrate improvements to realize benefits in cost, cycle, and customer satisfaction.
• Performs other assignments and tasks as directed.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 4 years work experience in the NDT method(s) and manufacturing processes as a certified Level 2 is required.
- Must be a US Citizen. Must comply with ITAR regulations and site SSA requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- GKN Experience
- An active secret clearance is preferred, or the ability to obtain one.
- Associate Degree of Applied Science in NDT - The classroom training for the applicable test method and level of certification needed must meet the minimum required per NAS-410
- Employee must have the skills and formal training needed to become certified to NAS 410, level 2 in the applicable test method, and level 2 in radiography testing (RT) and ultrasonic testing (UT), and be able to pass an annual eye examination per the requirements of NAS 410.
Compensation range
$26-35hr
