SUMMARY

This role will be responsible for safety and environmental compliance through routine inspections, assisting with training, making security check rounds, and performing audits in partnership with HSE.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Make internal and external inspections of all Trim and Mouldings facilities.
  • Assist in the onboarding of new hires both regular and temporary employees to include new hire safety orientation, review of work instructions, and help facilitate the onboarding process through the first 90 days of employment.
  • Perform routine inspections to ensure environmental and safety compliance. This will include fire systems, eye washes, ladders, area inspections, etc.
  • Assist with all plant postings and communications.
  • Assist with training coordination and delivery.
  • Attend meetings and seminars to assist in maintaining current safety policy compliance and in obtaining new ideas to implement more effective programs.
  • Audit contractors to ensure safety compliance and job performance in-line with the operational expectations.
  • Assist with incident investigations involving injuries, incidents, and near misses.
  • Work directly with all levels within the organization to help drive safety compliance.
  • Maintain level of quality consistent with established standards.
  • Comply with established safety rules.
  • Comply with company policy and procedures.
  • Maintain constructive working relationships with co-workers, leads, supervisors, and managers.
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to the satisfaction of supervisor and/or lead.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Good computer skills with knowledge in Microsoft Office is required. Forklift experience is preferred.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Good verbal communication is essential.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
