Music Director / Voice Instructor - (Resident Teaching Artist)

We are seeking talented and passionate Voice Instructors to join our team starting in late August 2023 thru July 2023. Positions include full-time and part-time. The instructor will be responsible for teaching musical theater techniques to students of all ages and skill levels. Compensation is commensurate with experience (ranging from $20-$38/hour for instructional hours, $16 for non-instructional (some positions are salaried)).

Responsibilities:

• Plan and conduct musical theater classes for students of various ages and skill levels
• Teach musical theater techniques
• Create lesson plans and develop class materials
• Assess student progress and provide feedback
• Collaborate with other instructors to create interdisciplinary classes
• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities
• Be on the creative team for the Academy Musicals

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Vocal Performance, Musical Theater or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Demonstrated expertise in one or multiple musical theater disciplines
• Experience teaching musical theater to students of various ages and skill levels
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with other instructors and staff members
• Passion for musical theater and a commitment to excellence in teaching

Possible full time hours are Tuesday-Friday 1:00-9:30 and Saturday from 8:30-4:45. Summer hours differ. Reach out for part time hours. KSMT Academy is located 25 minutes outside of Pittsburgh in Cranberry Township.

Keystone State Music Theater is a 502c3 nonprofit about 25 minutes outside Pittsburgh in Cranberry Township. We are a musical theater academy offering musical theater related programs ranging from "triple threat" programs, to elective course, to private lessons, to 3-4 fully produced musicals. Our facilites are modern, new, and well equipt.

Pay: $900.00 - $1,100.00 per week
