Townsquare Media (Laramie, WY) is looking to hire a full-time news reporter for 1290 KOWB.

Laramie's heritage N/T KOWB/Laramie Live is looking for our next Multimedia Journalist. Ideal candidates will be great fact finders, writers and storytellers….will have an instinct for 2022 local news gathering and local newscast presentation…and will possess both content writing and broadcast skills. Prior newsroom experience required. Video skills a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Leading the KOWB newsroom to help achieve on air and digital goals.
• Write and broadcast morning drive newscasts (5:30am-11:00am newscasts).
• Recording afternoon newscasts.
• News gathering using traditional and digital methods.
• Monitoring and updating news content on KOWB.com and Laramie Live.
• Assuming coverage for newsroom and the field.
• Guiding news staff with story selection.
• Assist the newsroom during breaking news situations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local primary news sources.
• Forecast, prepare, and lead special news events (election coverage, press conferences, storms, emergency situations).
• Produce reporter packages and other outside reports (Laramie Live, business reports).
• Working with engineering department to make sure news related equipment/studio is working properly.

Qualifications:

• One year of experience in broadcast news as a reporter
• Exceptional Writing Skills
• Great News Judgement Skills
