Riverdale Mills is hiring! We are located in Northbridge, MA just 15 minutes from Northern RI and 15 minutes from Worcester.

As the MRO Supplies and Inventory Specialist at Riverdale Mills you will be responsible for managing the parts inventory and supplies for maintenance technicians and operators of industrial process machinery including automated wire mesh welders, high speed wire drawing machines, continuous coating machinery, metal shears, ovens, PVC processing/mixing machinery, fans, plumbing systems, etc. Duties will include procuring parts, materials, and services required by the maintenance team for both breakdown and planned maintenance activity. You will work with the maintenance planner/scheduler to ensure all necessary parts, materials and services are available on time, and communicate any issues adversely impacting deliveries to the purchasing manager.

MRO Supplies and Inventory Specialist Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Responsible for all areas of Maintenance Inventory.
  • Must keep accurate records and maintain constant awareness of parts inventory levels.
  • Issue and receive inventory items and receive parts and supplies ordered.
  • Enter data into CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and support various levels of maintenance organization.
  • Receive, stock, select, and dispense a variety of supplies
  • Maintain accurate records relative to purchases, inventory, and work orders in CMMS and SAP
  • Develop and maintain metrics for inventory performance tracking
  • Develop plan for inventory levels, using historical data
  • Work with planner/scheduler to order materials and parts required for maintenance work orders
  • Kit parts for planned maintenance and project work orders
  • Follow up with suppliers to ensure orders are processed and scheduled to deliver on time
  • Communicate late deliveries with maintenance and operations teams, and work with suppliers to help resolve issues as quickly as possible to minimize impact on business
  • Perform stock keeping and transactional duties in storeroom serving a number of work groups
  • Responsible for all maintenance purchase requisitioning
  • Use barcode scanners to help organize inventory and ensure part picking accuracy
  • Will be required to do physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and make adjustments
  • Inspect tools and equipment for wear or defects
  • Display sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in regular work areas and storage areas
  • Follow company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
  • Recognize and report personal injury and potential hazards, and share ownership of their elimination
  • Manage first aid box supplies

MRO Supplies and Inventory Specialist Minimum Requirements

  • Associates degree (or higher) in a technical field is strongly preferred
  • Five (5) or more years related experience supporting maintenance functions required
  • Basic computer skills are necessary
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with SAP and/or IMAINT systems preferred
  • Familiar with bar-coding/scanning equipment in a CMMS environment preferred
  • Experience with computerized inventory control software or CMMS is required
  • Familiarity with tools and mechanical/electrical components is necessary
  • Must be highly organized, able to work with minimal supervisory oversight, and attentive to detail
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required
  • Must have the ongoing right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

MRO Supplies and Inventory Specialist Abilities Required

  • Must be able to work around moving machinery
  • Must be able to work in an environment with dust exposure, hot work areas in summer, and cold work areas in the winters
  • Must be able to wear required PPE
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have problem-solving, job planning, and organizing skills and abilities
  • Must be able to build collaborative relationships with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Must meet the physical requirements including, but not limited to lifting, walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, and must be able to lift 25 lbs.
