What this role is

As the Motion Designer, the primary function of this position is to be responsible for creating animations for marketing campaigns. The Motion Designer should possess a sophisticated design sensibility to ideate, design, and produce visual content for our client's Digital and Print marketing. This role requires the ability to create designs that communicate a message that strategically engages the consumer by ensuring the messaging and design are clear and compelling. Your contributions will ensure our client remains on the cutting edge of creative marketing.

What you’ll do

As a Graphic Designer, you’ll have the opportunity to:

Create/Maintain/Develop Animation Design

  • Creates and designs visual content in a variety of formats for Digital from start to finish: including ideation, image, video creation, editing, and production.
  • Develops and maintains a consistent visual style aligned with our client's brand.
  • Follows standards established to execute assets appropriately for each channel.
  • Produces deliverables of the highest creative and production quality.
  • Assists with team design needs, which include the creation of presentation templates for internal and external marketing and communications materials.
  • Ideates visual concepts/themes and refine design work based on overall creative direction.
  • Creates concept ideas holistically across multiple channels.
  • Stays up to date with new industry and design trends and demonstrates a passion for learning
  • Must be able to use after effects, please highlight work samples in your application that demonstrate animations, affect effects for marketing campaigns/ newsletters/ all things graphic design

Communicate and Collaborate

  • Actively collaborates with creative leadership to create best-in-class communications for marketing.
  • Encourages positive solutions and is a contributor to the team culture, while inspiring the team to grow.
  • Stays current with best practices and trends for a variety of channels.
  • Exercises the utmost level of professionalism; they will use strong, clear, and concise communication skills and listen to understand, recognize, and solve problems with the team.
  • Partners with the agency project supervisor and other teams to understand the incoming scope of deliverables.
  • Promotes a culture of innovation and teamwork.
  • Communicates design concepts clearly to non-designers and clients in a way that demonstrates an understanding of the project and how the design helps to achieve stated goals


This is a creative position that reports directly to the Creative Project Manager and is a member of the Marketing department.

What our client is looking for.

Education - Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic/Web Design or related design field preferred.

Work Experience -

Two (2) to Four (4) years of experience designing, developing, and creating for a variety of marketing channels within the retail industry.

Computer Knowledge and Skills - Below is the list of computer programs and software applications that are ideal for this position: Complete fluency with the following or equivalent design software -

  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Figma
  • After Effects

Additional required computer programs and software skills -

  • Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Work, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Google Drive
  • JIRA

Additional Skills -

  • Knowledge of Print and Digital Content best practices and a willingness to learn and stay up to date with new trends and best practices.
  • Must be organized, analytical, and dynamic.
  • Creative thinker with strong visual design and typography skills.
  • A passion for design and people.
  • Great sense of typography, illustration, and visual composition.
  • Experience in advertising, digital and traditional marketing, corporate identity, sales promotion, and social media communication.
  • Expertise in creating design solutions in a variety of campaigns across a broad range of problems and media, including advertising, print, interactive, web, email, and social networking. Communicate effectively with creative and project management staff, enabling trust and respect.
  • A compelling portfolio of work that demonstrates high-quality design work that also tells a story that you are a deep design thinker.
