Mobile Engineer III, Android

Travel is back, and Expedia's Media Solutions group is looking for a Software Development Engineers to help build the world's best travel advertising platform. Expedia's Media Solutions group enables hotels, airlines, and other travel providers to reach travel shoppers with helpful and relevant travel products. As a Software Development Engineer, you will solve complex technology problems in a fast-paced agile environment, constantly learning and adapting to rapidly evolving customer needs. You will collaborate with other engineers and business owners to build innovative solutions for travel advertisers enabling them to use Expedia's network of leading travel brands and global sites. With a growing product portfolio offering a multitude of advertising and sponsorship opportunities, our Media Solutions team at Expedia has created a viable marketing platform for advertising partners to reach the 112 million worldwide monthly unique visitors that visit Expedia Group sites.

What you'll do:

• Engineer scalable, fault tolerant software for serving ads across all Expedia Group pages

• Implement holistic solutions to bring consistent experience between platforms, with focus on Android and advise on technological limitations and alternative solutions

• Partner with Product leaders, Designers, and fellow engineers to innovate best-in-class solutions.

• Develop outstanding and thoroughly tested code for our platform

• Deliver on team goals and partner effectively in defining technical solutions

• Follow coding standards and engineering practices as agreed by the team

• Cross organizational boundaries to collaborate with other technology teams to resolve integrated problems

• Advocate for engineering excellence, exceptional usability, and outstanding quality

• Drive architectural decisions on our systems and the integration with the platform

Who you are:

• Extensive knowledge of Android technologies such as Jetpack, Jetpack Compose, Java, Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, GraphQL, and Android Studio

• Experience developing backend services - RESTful APIs, GraphQL

• Experience with Mobile Architecture patterns like MVP & MVVM

• Experience working with A/B testing, Event frameworks

• Confident in driving technical discussions and decisions across functional teams and organizations

• Ability to collaborate and get results cross-team, in a sophisticated working environment

• Excited to pick up, learn and run with new technologies and frameworks such as Swift UI and GraphQL

• Experience developing in AWS or similar cloud platforms. Preferred: S3, ECS/Docker, AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudFormation

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Preferred: One or more years' experience in Digital Advertising Technology

• Experience and Qualification: 4+ years as a software engineer, preferably in e-commerce

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $128,500.00 to $180,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $205,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
