STATUS: Full-time salary

PRINCIPLE FUNCTION – To provide ministerial support to Pastors and Ministry Leaders by assisting in the administrative needs of church ministries, facilitating opportunities for the church membership to engage in ministry, and promoting the ministry and mission of the church.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic office skills (making copies, sending emails, answering phone calls).
  • Familiarity with computer systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • A calling to serve God in a church staff position.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Confess to be a born-again Christian and to have made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
  • Believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God.
  • Accept the Baptist Faith and Message of the Southern Baptist Convention without reservation.
  • Agree to the Code of Conduct of First Baptist Church of Rogers.
  • Manifest, by daily example, the highest Christian virtue serving as a Christian role model both in and out of church.
  • Become a member of and faithfully attend and support First Baptist Rogers.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Provide administrative support to the Pastors and Ministry Leaders.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide input to improve the ministries of the church.
  • Assist in preparations for Sunday and Wednesday programs.
  • Assist in the maintenance of records for members, visitors, and prospects.
  • Assist in the tracking of ministry expenditures.
  • Assist in the scheduling of ministry events in the church’s scheduling software.
  • Coordinate volunteers and vendors for ministry activities and programs.
  • Communicate ministry opportunities to church members and guests on a regular basis through the website, e-mails, texts, social media, and phone calls.
  • Under the guidance of Pastors and Ministry Leaders, assist in the education of the members of the church in the faith by inculcating teachings of the faith and training members to live out their faith and fulfill the mission of the church to make disciples of all nations.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Provide secretarial support to the Adult Discipleship Team
  • Help to ensure all LIFE Groups are prepared for Sunday and Wednesday programs
    • Includes coordinating and ordering LIFE Group curriculum
    • Preparing and/or printing LIFE Group announcements
    • Helping with whatever is needed for the Adult LIFE Groups
  • Maintain adult LIFE Group classroom supplies (pens, forms, name tags, etc.)
  • Touch Point database: attendance tracking, follow-up, and running reports
  • Budgets and credit card info: communicate budget status, including submitting credit card expense reports and ensure that receipts are applied to the proper accounts
  • Communications: manage website data, weekly emails, texts and social media; creating, editing and proofing of announcements in various outlets
  • Entering, updating and managing event information
  • Background checks: maintain records of who has or has not had background checks run
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Office Manager, Adult Discipleship Pastor or the Discipleship Team
