Job Title: Material Handling Equipment Operator I Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor ______________________________________________________________________ Primary Duties and Responsibilities • Learn, maintain, and apply accurate knowledge and understanding of Bargain Hunt work instructions, policies, and procedures in all work practices and decisions • Meet established standards for quality and productivity, including but not limited to: on-time delivery percentage and store acceptance rates. • Operate ride on double pallet jacks, stand up forklifts, tuggers, and/or order picker. • Responsible for warehouse inventory maintenance and reconciliation.

  • Process outbound cross-dock freight as necessary • Document all receiving via computer or control log • Replenishment of picking locations • Process, pick, pack, and stage customer orders using Radio Frequency (RF) scanning system • Load palatalized shipments onto outbound vehicles • Keep receiving area, warehouse shelves and aisles clean, organized, and free of hazards and obstructions • Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse storage areas • Maintain effective communication with customers, co-workers, and other team members • Maintain material handling equipment and report any potential problems • Restock received product into warehouse assigned stocking locations • Collaboratively work with other departments to make sure production standards are met • Attend regular and impromptu departmental meetings and company training • Follow established work procedures to assure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local regulatory agencies including: OSHA, FAR, EPA, DOT, and RCRA requirements • Follow safety regulations in all work processes promoting a safe and hazard free work environment • Assists the supervisor with any malfunctions in the distribution process and make recommendations for process improvements • Flexible to cross-train in other Warehouse functions • Perform other miscellaneous duties/tasks as assigned by management. Job Specifications and Qualifications • High School Degree or equivalent; Associate's degree, a plus • Stable work history • Forklift certification with current forklift license preferred. • Fork Truck experience required, minimum 2 years • Electric Rider Pallet Jack experience required • A minimum of 2 years of warehousing, inventory control, and/or shipping experience in a productivity measured warehouse environment • Prior Stand Up/High Reach experience within the last six months preferred • Knowledge of WMS preferred.. • Experience with RF technology in a WMS environment preferred.
  • Good computer skills with an ability to learn new systems quickly • Basic language skills required • Basic math skills • Ability to comprehend verbal and written communications • Demonstrated past performance containing high energy and delivering positive results • Ability to meet production and accuracy standards in a fast paced work environment • Required to have sustainable physical requirements including but not limited to: standing for long periods of time (up to 10 hours), lifting up to 40 lbs repeatedly, walking long distances repeatedly, bending, stooping, climbing ladders or stairs repeatedly, manual dexterity of hands to process orders, push or pull up to 50 lbs • Must be able to hear equipment and warning signals • Able to work in varying temperatures, depending upon the season. • Communicate in a timely and appropriate manner to all levels • Ensure manager is well informed on a consistent basis and comply with all company policies, including safety, productivity, and quality guidelines • Proficient and experienced with MS Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel. • Attention to detail and able to perform basic research • Able to adapt effectively within a continually changing and demanding work environment • Knowledgeable of DOT and EPA guidelines for transporting hazardous materials. • Ensure a safe working environment through compliance of building policies and procedures.
