Research Nurse Manager

Remote US

Illingworth Research Group Ltd (hereafter Illingworth) provides mobile Research Nurses to bring clinical studies to patients at a location of their choice, reduce the burden of participation and increase engagement, motivation, and diversity in participant populations through an efficient and cost-effective model. Additionally, Illingworth can provide on-site nursing services where sites need additional support.

The Research Nurse Manager (RNM) role is a line manager role supporting the Research Nurse team consisting of full-time corporate nurses, as needed bank nurses, and nurses supplied through vendor partnerships. The RNM is the first point of contact for Research Nurses (RN) regarding routine aspects of Illingworth with a focus to liaise with the wider RN operations and recruitment team to cover day-to-day nursing operations.

Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with recruitment to interview nurses, determine skillset and functional level, and maintain an adequate number of RNs within the RN Management line to resource projects.
2. Oversee the allocation, utilization, and performance of team members.
3. Forecast the need for additional corporate RN resources based on geographical area, clinical expertise, and client demand.
4. Provide day-to-day support of the RNs in a line manager capacity including assignment, time sheets, expenses, feedback, performance review, non-conformance, and any other internal administration.
5. Effectively collaborate and communicate with RN, onboarding, recruitment, and project teams to ensure efficient, positive relations to support RN activities.
6. Provide clinical and subject matter expertise to project teams based on clinical speciality,
patient population, or therapeutic area.
7. Maintain understanding of regulatory, local, and Illingworth requirements related to skills and qualifications of RNs and ensure a thorough onboarding and ongoing compliance. Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure centralised information is kept up to date.
8. Assist with the organisation of continuing professional development (CPD), training, and career development needs of the RNs. Ensure GCP and clinical skills are maintained and give guidance where necessary. Coordinate and/or deliver further training when required.
9. Build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders including vendor partners. Organize, contribute to, and participate in meetings.
10. Maintain and create clear and effective communication to ensure RNs and the RN Management team are connected and engaged.
11. Develop, implement, and maintain departmental programs that support the strategic nursing operations plan.
12. Prepare reports, presentations, action plans, and other deliverables to progress the delivery of RN services.
13. Collate and analyse departmental data/metrics including utilisation, retention rates, etc. Track and trend to make recommendations for process improvements.
14. Participate in and lead ongoing quality and performance improvement initiatives.
15. Develop and implement RN retention programs.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
1. Bachelor of Science degree in nursing (or country equivalent) required. Advanced degree preferred.
2. Active registration/licensure to practice nursing.
3. A minimum of 5 years nursing experience and 2 years in clinical trials, ideally with prior experience in mobile research nursing.
4. Strong leadership, decision making, and issue resolution skills.
5. Detail oriented with excellent organisational, problem solving, and analytical ability.
6. Ability to prioritise, delegate, and manage multiple competing priorities to meet established deadlines.
7. Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
8. Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at a minimum.
