This is a full-time position at the Health Care Center's Laboratory. This position is eligible for earned weekly wage access
Job Purpose or Objective(s): You will provide accurate and timely information in testing patient specimens and assures integrity of the entire analytical process.
This position is subject to the Supreme Court's mandate for the Covid-19 vaccination. The Choctaw Nation offers medical and/or religious exemptions for those who cannot get the vaccine
You will report to the Laboratory manager
Primary Tasks:
You will perform testing and report results in an accurate and timely manner.
You will maintain phlebotomy skills for all age groups. Maintains specimen integrity and assures patient specimens are stored properly.
You will repeat results with critical values for confirmation and follows “Read Back” policy to verify called report was accurately received.
You will review results to assure exactness, quality and accuracy. Consults with Lab Supervisor or Department Head as appropriate for testing policy and or procedure.
You will maintain proper storage and dating of reagents.
You will communicate concerns, problems and unusual findings to supervisor
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
MINIMUM
Bachelor’s Degree in medical or related field
Medical Laboratory Technician Certification
Knowledge and capability to of performing daily maintenance on instruments
Understanding of the basic workflow of the laboratory
Knowledge of all lab instruments and equipment, and performs QC, maintenance and minor repairs
