Current Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Medical Assistance Specialist 2; OR current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 or Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law to a Medical Assistance Specialist 2

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of NYS Medicaid Managed Care (MMC) and Medicaid enrollment/eligibility and reporting systems. Experience in managing multiple projects; proofreading complex materials; and providing technical assistance to outside organizations.


Duties Description

Located in the Bureau of Program Implementation and Enrollment within the Division of Health Plan Contracting and Oversight, this position will assist in the implementation and oversight of the Medicaid Managed Care (MMC) program in NYS. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying systems-related managed care enrollment and eligibility issues and communicating with other Divisions and contractor staff in the resolution of such issues. The incumbent will also provide technical assistance on the MMC and affiliated programs to Local District Social Services staff, Managed Care Organizations, the enrollment broker, and health care providers. The incumbent will also participate in workgroup activities and interact with other bureaus and offices within OHIP, SDOH, and other State agencies.
