Job Profile Summary

Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) at Lancaster General Health are provided 100% paid tuition through PA College of Health Sciences should they decide to pursue further education in the medical field. They are an integral part of the healthcare team in our outpatient practice settings, providing a coordinated and holistic approach to care through our patient centered model. The role enables the CMA the opportunity to use their clinical and administrative skills, while positively impacting the patient experience and quality outcomes. Through a supportive and collaborative environment, CMAs are encouraged to advance their skills, expand their clinical knowledge and pursue further education & professional growth. Additionally, they serve physicians, patients and their families by rooming patients, taking vital signs, reviewing medications, conducting telemedicine appointments, providing lifestyle education, coordinating schedules for admissions or services and completing insurance forms. Our CMAs have opportunities to participate in weekly huddles and are empowered to share new and innovative ideas, influencing clinical practice within their own department as well as the overarching health system.

• A Certificate/Diploma from a Medical Assistant training program or Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT or NAHTR). If not certified upon hire, certification required within six (6) months of hire.
• High school diploma or general equivalent (GED) is required.
• CPR Certification required.
• For Regional Positions only - Valid driver's license is required.
