Position: Medical Assistants & Certified Medical Assistants

Float Position: Full-Time & Part-Time

8:30am – 5:00pm, M - F

Location: Health Centers in our NE Gateway Area


Compensation: With Certification $25.15/hr - $27.34/hr, Without Certification starting at $21.00/hr

Skills:

  • Create an environment of acceptance and safety for our clients.
  • Meet clients where they are at and model patience in interactions with those we serve.
  • Maintain clinic safety standards using protective devices, universal precautions, and other infection control measures.
  • Prepare examination rooms, clean, and sterilize instruments using autoclave, and set up medical laboratory equipment.
  • Assist providers in examining and treating the clients.
  • Utilize EMR system to maintain patient records.
  • Willingness to learn basic knowledge of Trauma Informed Practices, Motivational Interviewing, and Evidence Based Practices.
  • Model and maintain a work culture that supports and values equity, inclusion, and diversity.


Position Qualifications:

  • Medical Assistant: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Medical Assistant: Currently certified as a Medical Assistant from an accredited certifying organization (NCCT or AAMA).
  • Two years of relevant medical clinic experience is preferred.
  • Six months’ prior experience as a medical assistant is preferred.
  • Experience with Epic EHR is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work with individuals who have mental health challenges and/or substance use disorder challenges
  • Excellent ability to collaborate and problem solve
  • Trauma informed approach to patient care
  • Operate computer hardware and software at a level needed to effectively perform job functions.
  • Ability to enter data and retrieve data and to prepare reports

Working Conditions

  • Staff must have the ability to assist the team in providing safety to all clients and staff in potential volatile situations
  • Occasionally stooping, lifting (20-50 lbs), climbing (stairs), crouching, and running
  • Regularly sitting, reaching, and keyboarding
  • Constant standing, walking, visual and auditory
