We are seeking a Clinical Support Supervisor to oversee our clinical support team. Similar titles are nurse supervisor, medical assistant supervisor, clinical supervisor, and lead. This position is responsible for ensuring that we have adequate, competent, mission-focused, values-oriented, patient experience focused clinical support staff. The clinical support department is made up of medical assistants and nurses that provide critical healthcare services to our patients.

This position oversees medical assistants in multiple divisions, interviews applicants, trains new hires, and ensures competency is maintained through regular assessments and audits. The Supervisor also orders medical supplies and monitors inventory.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills and be capable of successfully directing and managing the staff, tracking the quantity and quality of work product, shifting resources where needed, and developing people to be their best.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the clinical support team to meet all patient and clinician needs, directing resources in real time to maintain clinical flow.
  • Identify team member and system weaknesses and develop solutions for improved efficiencies and accuracy.
  • Provide regular feedback to support staff.
  • Provide for the development of team members to maximize departmental efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Identify areas of improvement in direct reports, conduct root cause analyses, and develop performance and process improvement plans.
  • Implement strategies to achieve organizational objectives and goals.
  • Report to the Office Manager with updates on activities and performance of the records department staff.
  • Ensure a high quality, high quantity of work product from each direct report.
  • Ensure the training program is up-to-date and implemented to maximize the scope of each direct report.
  • Follow company policy and procedures in carrying out duties.
  • Ensure the policy and procedure manual is up to date when new material is developed.
  • Draft policies and procedures relevant to your department.
  • Work with the Office Manager, COO, Medical Director, and Director of Quality to optimize workflows to achieve clinical quality goals.
  • Set schedules and ensure that attendance policies are followed.
  • Monitor timesheets for inaccuracies.
  • Ensure direct reports comply with all relevant state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA rules and directives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, administration, accounting, nursing, or other similar fields (preferred but not required)
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills through work experience and experience that shows a growing responsibility within an organization (required)
  • Stable employment history (required)
  • Excellent communication and organizational capabilities (required)
  • At least five years of experience in a similar role in a healthcare supervisory capacity (preferred)
  • Experience as a medical assistant or similar clinical function in an outpatient office (required)
  • Licensed Practice Nurse or Registered Nurse (preferred)
  • BLS certified (preferred). Must be obtaine within 90 days of hire.
  • Phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills using English (required). Spanish speaking abilities a plus.

Physical demands:

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time and operate a computer and other office equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. frequently, 20 lbs occasionally, and 40 lbs rarely.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in English.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.50 - $25.00 per hour
