Job Summary:
Performs general clinical and clerical duties to assist providers in patient care. Duties include clinical, laboratory, and phlebotomy services.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)
- Perform blood draws on patients for laboratory testing.
- Verify requested tests have been ordered and track results
- Provide patient education on lab test and schedule appointments.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by following OSHA guidelines.
- Stock and order lab supplies such as needles, tubes, and vacutainers.
- Contact patients regarding genetic test results by telephone or mail.
- Maintain refrigerator, lab, and utility room temperature logs. Responsible for maintaining other logs such as the eyewash station, AED, autoclave, and cidex.
- Run controls on supplies such as pregnancy tests.
- Assist other staff, nurses, and providers as needed.
