MARKETING MANAGER

The Croc’s Reputation.
For the past 30 years, music fans far and wide have recognized The Crocodile as Seattle’s essential live music institution. From modest roots as the home base for an upstart grunge scene, our stage now hosts the world’s breaking new talent (Lizzo, Billie Eilish, LAUV, Noname, Alabama Shakes to name a few). The venue continues to make music history today with a surprise COVID-era relocation. The “New” Croc-- debuting Fall 2021--will occupy three stories and 30,000sf of the 1950s Sailors Union of the Pacific building.

This multi-venue facility consists of a 750 cap showroom, 300 cap club, 100 seat theater, 18 room hotel, restaurant, streetside bar and alley lounge. Additionally, our staff help artists grow by acting as independent promoters: booking, marketing and producing events in venues throughout the PNW.

The Role
Titles are overrated. This is a marketing role with plenty of responsibility, hands-on training and room to grow. No music experience necessary, any field or life experience may apply. We will be considering folks on their skills, creativity, attitude, love of music/arts, marketing knowhow and excitement to learn. We can’t wait for you to join our close knit and long standing team here at The Croc!

Responsibilities

  • Show specific marketing - both creative & practical
  • Venue specific marketing - venue logistics & customer education / restaurant / bar / hotel
  • Maintaining relationships with ad partners (radio, print, local blogs, promoters)
  • Fan driven content / engagement - merch rollouts, curating the venue’s Spotify playlist, etc
  • Socials - Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, web content, TikTok
  • Physical on-site marketing materials
  • Preparing ad budgets
  • Attending music events and conferences as a representative of the venue
  • Develop and manage in-house marketing internships
  • Sending tons of emails

Expectations

  • Salary range: $50,000-$55,000 plus health benefits
  • 40 hrs/week
  • When we are back to the office full time, in person office hours 5 days/week

Skills

  • Intrinsically motivated with minimal supervision (of course, following extensive training)
  • Excitement for the job!
  • Highly responsive -- prepared to receive lots of emails daily with strategic prioritization strategies
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Super basic photoshop and/or Illustrator knowledge or willingness to learn
  • Loves going to shows or interest in working to the benefit of artists and fans alike

The Crocodile was born from a punk rock ethos and we believe there is nothing more rocknroll today than attracting and retaining a diverse staff of varied experiences, perspectives and unique identities. We are Seattle’s cozy living room and artists’ home-away-from-home; we are committed to being welcoming, educational and diversely representative.
