The job of Community Resource Developer/Perkins Coordinator was established for the purpose/s of developing and collaborating with Industry Partners and coordinating all Perkins grant initiatives within the policies approved by the DCTS Board of Directors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Communicates with key stakeholders to include students, parents, staff, post-secondary partners, business and industry, government and community for the purpose of defining roles, assisting faculty in aligning curriculum forming agreements for students to earn post-secondary articulated credit for their work at DCTS.
  • Completes grant reports, including compiling narratives, assurances, and final expenditures for the purpose of assuring compliance with grants and partnership agreements.
  • Coordinates all promotional materials (e.g. annual DCTS Course Guide, promotional brochures for individual programs, photo and video production; develops and maintains content for DCTS website) for the purpose of supporting and promoting assigned programs.
  • Coordinates outreach opportunities (e.g. assemblies, special presentations, events and the DCTS career exploration programs; career days) for the purpose of promoting and improving achievement at the Technical High Schools.
  • Coordinates research and grant development and corresponding budget proposals (e.g. Perkins, PA Equipment Grant, workforce and economic development, STEM, and other education grants) for the purpose of supporting Career and Technical Education initiatives.
  • Develops and maintains methods for collecting program data for Perkins (e.g. compiles research and data for various reports and initiatives; creates and compiles Perkins survey; contacts post-secondary schools to obtain feedback on credits earned) for the purpose of ensuring the efficient functioning of the program.
  • Participates on the recruitment team (e.g. implements marketing strategies to include print, video, and electronic media) for the purpose of meeting DCTS and State goals and providing career and technical education opportunities to new students and increasing participation of under-served and non-traditional students.
  • Prepares scope and sequence for articulation/dual enrollment agreements for the purpose of meeting PDE requirements.
  • Serves as a Community Resource Developer, representing DCTS and DCIU (e.g. developing partnerships, presenting to and participating on advisory committees for career and technical education; coordinate meetings, campus tours and in-services as necessary; serve as liaison between DCTS and DCIU as necessary; develop partnerships with area businesses; present updates to Local Advisory Committee (LAC) members and actively participate on LAC subcommittees or Occupational Advisory Committee (OAC)) for the purpose of supporting the Perkins program and DCIU initiatives.
  • Serves as Team Leader for the purpose of developing a recruitment schedule in collaboration with the sending school districts and the recruitment team including specialized recruitment efforts for specific programs.
  • Participates on the Practical Nursing Program recruitment team (e.g. assist with implementing marketing strategies to include print, video, and electronic media) for the purpose of meeting DCTS and DCIU goals and providing adult education opportunities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (e.g. maintain and identify advanced placement classes for each sending school; coordinate Parent Night) for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work of the programs.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Job Related Area

Experience Required: Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired

Skills Required: Excellent communication skills, ability to network with a wide variety of stakeholders, grant writing and management skills

Travel between Delaware County schools is required.
