The
Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op will be tackling the challenging area of canister and ampoule assembly in our Advanced Deposition Materials business unit at our Chemical Manufacturing Plant in
Burnet, TX. This business unit is experiencing exciting growth with several new formulations ramping into production in the next 6-12 months, but this growth has highlighted the need to improve our canister and ampoule cleaning and prep manufacturing processes.
In this role you will:
- Contribute on key projects – Process optimization for mechanical component testing prior to assembly
- Development of potential future full-time hire/ELDP candidate
- Intern benefits:
- Opportunity to solve engineering problem with a focus on operational excellence
- Exposure to business tools and systems (such as Minitab, SAP, camLine, Accolade)
- Exposure to manufacturing setting
Expected Outcomes:
- Learn Canister/Ampoule cleaning and assembly processes and safety control systems
- Build a test plan, coordinate with manufacturing to collect data, analyze data and generate technical recommendations on path forward, and finally implement improved process
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to make enhancements to production processes that add value to customer while maintaining operational efficiency
Requirements:
- Desired Major: Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program with a graduation date of December 2023 or later.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to learn (with training) statistical software to be used in data analysis
