Position Summary:

Seagen is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Associate I, Cell Culture Drug Substance, that desires an opportunity to significantly contribute to the development and commercialization of transformative cancer therapies. The initial focus of this position will be to actively participate and contribute to the design, build, and operational startup of Seagen’s new cGMP manufacturing facility, “Project Launch Pad” is being built in Everett, Washington, just North of Seattle. Launch Pad will be a greenfield build encompassing end-to-end manufacturing capabilities for biologics and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Primary areas of responsibility include raw material dispensing, assembly and movement of raw materials and equipment into staging or production areas, preparation of media and buffers, preparation and sterilization of parts and assemblies, stocking of materials and supplies
  • Execute unit operations described in standard operating procedures and manufacturing batch records
  • Perform bioprocess operations that include cell culture, filtration, and harvest
  • Setup, maintenance, and use of cGMP equipment as directed by standard operating procedures and manufacturing batch records
  • Familiarity of process automation and business quality systems and software (QMS, Maximo, and ERP software)
  • Ensure work is executed in compliance with company and regulatory quality policy and systems

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Life Sciences or Engineering, or Associate’s degree preferably in Life Sciences or a technical program, or High School Diploma with Biotech certificate from an approved program desirable
  • Familiar with biotechnology industry and biopharmaceutical manufacturing is preferred. Required 0-2 years of related experience
  • Must be able to work weekends, off-shifts, and overtime as required. Applicant must be willing and able to work reliably on a flexible schedule to meet the demands of the project
  • Must be able to don gowning in the form of hospital scrub, gloves, safety glasses/goggles, coveralls and safety toe footwear with shoe covers multiple times per shift
  • Handle and work with hazardous materials and chemical per standard operating procedures and OSHA guidelines
  • Knowledge of cGMP regulations is preferred
  • Good organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to prioritize competing tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment. Ability to interact constructively with peers and support groups

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in a scientific discipline (life sciences / engineering)

The hiring pay range for this position is $59,000 to $75,900 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
