Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) has an exciting opportunity for a resourceful and collaborative IT professional to join the team! This challenging and satisfying position will partner with business sponsors, fellow IT members, and other MVTA departments to collaborate, plan, and execute key organizational projects, making a direct impact on the operations of MVTA and the service we provide to our communities.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for planning, overseeing, and leading IT projects from ideation through completion; developing project plans to ensure resource availability, allocation, and on-time delivery within budget and scope. The Manager, IT Solutions will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, working collaboratively with internal partners to implement meaningful technology solutions and optimize operations.

JOB DUTIES OR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
• Implement, support, and drive technology projects with project management methodology.
• Collaborate and consult with key stakeholders to prioritize projects.
• Ensure appropriate communication and maintain contact with internal and external clients.
• Evaluate training requirements, communication, pilot, and implementation plans and coordinate with other teams as needed.
• Develop project plans that include scope, schedule, budget, and resource requirements; collaborate with involved parties to ensure a successful project.
• Identify and establish scope and parameters of requirements analysis on a project-by-project basis to define impact, outcome criteria, and metrics.
• Gather user requirements via interviews, workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
• Present a comprehensive IT project plan/initiative, with an exceptional level of professional business etiquette.
• Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to internal and external stakeholders.
• Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements, verbally and/or through written documentation, to all stakeholders. Request input to support a collaborative solution-driven process.
• Assist in business process improvement initiatives.
• Promote technology, where appropriate, to support the MVTA mission and vision, adding value to business processes.
• Assist in the research of technology software and hardware, established by client priorities, while adhering to MVTA procurement requirements.
• Assist and represent the IT Department in assigned internal and external working groups.
• Lead in the selection, training, supervision, and evaluations of Information Technology Department staff. Establishes professional standards for work quality, productivity, performance, and accountability within the IT Department. Fosters a continuous improvement environment and sets attainable stretch goals for team members.
• Direct professional development activities, performance review processes, and other administrative activities. Communicates with staff on a continual basis; coaches and mentors employees; meets regularly with internal staff to review various projects and programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned or as apparent.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $79,624.23 - $99,530.30 per year
