WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Inbound Sort Center Manager will oversee all operations within Nike’s Inbound Sort Center (ISC) in Southern California and be the conduit between Nike and our 3PL partner who will physically operate the ISC. We are looking for a proven leader within the Logistics Industry who will assume responsibility for guiding our 3PL partner and elevating the First Mile impact within NA’s Supply Chain. As our Operations Manager, you’ll co-lead the execution of Nike’s ISC, assuring that all departmental safety, service, quality and financial objectives are met. You’ll demonstrate leadership in crafting a positive and collaborative environment engaging with our 3PL provider managing this ISC. You’ll lead a successful and cohesive work group by demonstrating a true dedication to continuous process improvement.

In this role, we will need you to advise business processes to receive, store, process, and ship product timely and accurately while optimizing operational results. You’ll analyze performance data for the purpose of driving key decisions around service, operations and logistics. You’ll facilitate and encourage process improvement focused on making the operation more effective, simple and flexible.

You’ll set and meet operational goals for critical functions of the operation using data. Initiate and lead projects to improve the operation by applying project management tools. Simplify the work, minimize errors, and involve employees from all levels in the improvement processes. Specific activities include contractual oversight of the provider, establish and measure KPI’s, lead monthly and quarterly business reviews and provide process improvement opportunities. Ensure consistent high-quality leadership of associates by 3PL management team. You’ll develop and maintain interdependent relationships with peers and all functional areas within the facility (operations service, systems, facilities, etc.)

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH This role will initially report to the First Mile Director NA. This role will operate remotely in the ISC located in Southern California.

This role will build effective relationships with partners across the supply chain to create the future of First Mile ISC operations. Key partners include the First Mile Capabilities team, LSP management team, Frist Mile Origin Ops team, First Mile Transportation team, integrated flow planning team, technology teams, global logistics product management team, and the supply chain center of excellence. You will also be a key stakeholder of Global Transportation and Global Procurement.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher or combination of relevant education, experience and training.
  • Minimum of 5 years operation management experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of automated distribution systems.
  • Functional knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean background preferred
  • Ability to be flexible and lead from a servant leadership approach to remove obstacles while empowering your team to deliver world class/consumer & customer focused results
  • 3PL Experience working with or in a partner model to lead the execution of supply chain business needs.
  • Excellent project management skills in order to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience of working within a greenfield environment is a plus.
  • Experience with Excel, Word, SAP, and Manhattan WMS
  • Excellent analytical and innovative skills for strategic planning, sound decision-making, and problem solving and ability to work well under tight business driven deadlines.
  • Outstanding leadership skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters in a professional manner.
  • Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills, ability to lead others and guide at various levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience of understanding and fostering a diverse workforce. Detail oriented.
  • Ability to support cross-functional partnerships in the broader organization to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to empower and motivate.
  • Ability to work effectively on a team.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and shifts when required. Including staying late or coming in early for meetings.
  • Ability to access all areas of the Distribution Center.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $118,000 to $177,000 Actual salary will vary based on a candidate’s location, qualifications, skills, and experience. Information about benefits
