Job Purpose
We are looking for a Manager, Early Career Recruiting who will work closely with the Head of University Relations to support the strategic vision and participate in the administration of the university recruitment and internship programs and establish Novartis as an employer of choice for top, diverse talent on college campuses. The Manager, Early Career Recruiting will help plan, prepare and support key elements of fall and spring campus recruiting seasons and all other aspects of University Relations from maintaining campus relations with key stakeholders to on-boarding new graduates and interns.

Major Accountabilities
  • Support and coordinate graduate hiring and internship/rotational programs for Novartis US and on-campus recruitment efforts including but not limited to; scheduling campus career events, company presentations, networking events, on-campus and/or on-site interviews and site visits to the Novartis campus, handling travel arrangements and developing pipeline of qualified candidates
  • Manage the tracking, reporting and analytics of UR metrics, and maintain candidate records
  • Develop and maintain relationships with student clubs and organizations and act as point of contact for college administrators for the successful coordination of all events. Maintain key databases, such as diversity organizations/partnerships and professional organizations
  • Implement programs focused on brand-building; develop communication strategy and marketing materials, leveraging social media platforms, to enhance relationships with key university partners (career services staff, faculty, student groups, and alumni)
  • Post jobs on college job board platforms and assist with tracking and managing applications
  • Manage the recruiting calendar and university program agenda
  • Organize and manage the onboarding process and orientation activities from offer acceptance to day one experience. Support internship programs including distribution of intern evaluation forms and management of the mentorship program and assignments
  • Coordinate with divisional leaders to ensure alignment and consistency of early-career talent hiring and engagement efforts

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $102,400 Mid - $128,000 High $158,600 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

While Novartis does not require vaccination at this time, for certain Novartis sites in the US all associates and candidates may be required to either upload an image of their COVID-19 vaccine card demonstrating proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 (or other similar evidence of vaccination) or proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken by the associate or candidate within the past seven days to enter any of our sites and/or customer office or healthcare facility, as well as prior to participating in other work related off-site meetings. Minimum requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree required in a related field

Work Experience
  • Minimum 5+ years experience required in University Recruiting or Career Services Recruiting role in a University setting or as a Recruiting coordinator or Junior Recruiter. Experience working in a Pharmaceutical company or within a multinational environment preferred. Minimum 2+ years experience using a Candidate Relationship Management (CRM) system and/or Campus Recruitment System tools (e.g. Simplicity, GradLeaders, Handshake)
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, highly motivated, self-directed and fast learner with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced matrixed environment
  • Experience in developing communication and marketing materials for campus recruitment. Creative and driven to develop innovative recruiting strategies and continuous process improvement to ensure a positive candidate experience from first-touch to post-internship
  • Outstanding client management skills. Strong influencing, interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated success interacting and building relationships with academic administrators and leaders, undergraduate and MBA graduate students and HR staff
  • Proven organizational, administrative and project management skills and comfort with providing timely and clear reporting of progress data, surveys and analytics. Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel

Languages
  • Fluency in English required, both excellent oral and written communications skills. Strong collaborative and communicative skills to engage with senior leaders and stakeholders across the organization
