Northrop Grumman Payload & Ground Systems is seeking a Manager 1 Custodial Services to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Azusa, CA and will be responsible for supervising bargaining unit employees who maintain buildings’ janitorial, groundskeeping, and floor maintenance through route assignments and work orders. This position will have 2nd shift hours.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee a team of custodians, landscapers and general maintenance personnel at a large-scale industrial campus
  • Evaluate, coordinate, and assign cleaning, landscaping, and minor service and repair tasks to team members based on need and skill level.
  • Provide assistance, mentoring, guidance, training, and support as required
  • Inspect all work performed to ensure it meets company standards and client expectations, as well as any established industry standards and codes designated by local, state, or federal laws
  • Act as point-of-contact for cleaning and floor care teams for any questions, concerns, or to resolve conflicting priorities.
  • Promptly respond to any customer inquiries and take action as soon as possible
  • Track and maintain departmental records such as service history, attendance, overtime
  • Respond to after hours calls for support as required
  • Ensure proper ordering, delivery, and inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Participate in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training of new employees
  • Ensure efficiency of work team and make adjustments as necessary
  • Create job analysis to determine the cycle time to completing tasking for all areas of the campus
  • Having strong attention to detail for the ability to stay ahead of repetitive ongoing tasks
  • Maintain adherence to company and industry standards regarding safety and hygiene compliance
  • Ensure campus landscaping is properly supported, maintained, irrigated and compliant with local standards and regulation
  • Utilize both verbal and written communication skills

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree & 3 years of related leadership experience in custodial or groundskeeping, OR a High School Diploma & equivalent of 4 years of leadership experience in facilities maintenance
  • 3+ years of experience cleaning and sanitizing commercial spaces in a team environment
  • Knowledge of industrial campus Facility operations
  • Expertise in commercial industry standards, practices and cleaning of equipment
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs
  • Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD security clearance (US Citizenship Required)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Management experience with bargaining unit employees
  • SAP experience or using maintenance tracking systems


Salary Range: $76,500 USD - $114,700 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
