The Maintenance Trainer will administer all training needs for all maintenance personnel to ensure our technicians, inspectors, and managers are capable of performing their maintenance duties with the highest degree of competence and safety in compliance with all applicable 14 CFR regulatory requirements as well as company policy and procedures. The Maintenance Training Specialist will report directly to the Maintenance Training Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • The Maintenance Trainer will perform and participate in or manage all duties related to maintenance training
  • Assists in determining requirements for formal technical training needs of AMT's based on operational and regulatory requirements; coordinates and schedules such training with aircraft and engine OEM's or qualified training vendors; administers associated documentation requirements
  • Administers maintenance administrative training aligned with the requirements of the GOM, GMM and/or company Policy & Procedures Manual; coordinates with maintenance managers for administering initial and recurring training to ensure personnel are highly competent in performing all maintenance administrative functions
  • Assist in developing and administers OJT policy and procedures for apprentice technicians
  • Assist in developing and conducts employee new-hire indoctrination training and orientation sessions covering Maintenance technical administrative and HR general administrative matters
  • Administers all training requirements as per CAMTS and NAAMTA standards, to include all OSHA training requirement as applicable to the duties and responsibilities of each position and location
  • Administers the training requirements and associated documentation of the AMRG Pilot Maintenance and Servicing Procedures manual; develops new training procedures as needed
  • Administers the Cornerstone training portal to include; developing or obtaining content, managing the content, assigning required courses and ensuring completion in the allotted timeframe, and processing associated training reports
  • Maintains a filing system of all maintenance training records and documentation for all maintenance personnel

Minimum Qualifications
  • 3 years' experience as a technical training instructor or similar role
  • 3 years' experience in an FAA 14 CFR Part 135 aircraft maintenance technical, management or quality control supporting role
  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interpret and effectively communicate complex technical data and processes associated with maintenance training curriculum
  • Able to take initiative, creating, implementing and improving procedures
  • Ability to travel throughout Guardian Flight's service area and remain away from home for up to two weeks at a time
  • Strong knowledge of 14 CFR regulations and associated guidance material applicable to maintenance and operations of aircraft operated on a 14 CFR Part 135 air carrier certificate
  • Superior customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization
  • Possess excellent organizational, administration, and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite 2010)
  • May travel up to 20% of the time

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years' experience as a technical instructor or similar role
  • 5 years' experience in an FAA 14 CFR Part 135 aircraft maintenance technical, management or quality control supporting role
  • Prior significant experience developing courseware for use in technical training presentations
  • Prior significant maintenance experience with aircraft operated in an EMS configuration on an FAA part 135 certificate
