GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Exciting opportunity! We are eager to welcome the right candidate to our team as a part-time maintenance tech. The individual must have a passion Geriatrics and work comfortably within a team. Our facilities are located in Monroe County and we take pride in our family like settings! The responsibilities of this position include maintaining the facility, equipment, and grounds in a safe and efficient manner.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have one to two years experience in general maintenance procedures.
  • Must possess advanced knowledge of commercial plumbing and electricity.
  • Must possess a valid NYS driver's license and have reliable transportation.
  • Experience in Skilled Nursing Maintenance preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shift or area; perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments and as outlined in established maintenance policies and procedures. Replace burned out light bulbs to include exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc.
  • Pick up materials from the store as needed in emergent situations
  • Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting, trimming, policing, sweeping, cleaning windows and screens, etc., as needed.
  • Ensure that work assignment areas are clean and equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are properly stored before leaving such areas on break and at the end of the workday. Keep work area(s) free of hazardous conditions, i.e., grease/oil spills, excess supplies, equipment, etc., to assure that all established safety rules/regulations are followed at all times.
  • Refer to Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) when necessary and follow established policies governing the use of labels and MSDS.
  • Follow all established fire safety policies/procedures and safety precautions when performing maintenance services/tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
  • Report all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc., to your Supervisor immediately.
  • Perform any other pertinent duties as assigned by my supervisor. I understand that emergency conditions may require me to temporarily work shifts other than the one for which I have applied and been assigned, and agree to such scheduling changes and overtime as necessary to ensure proper operation of the Homes as directed by my supervisor.

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKER TRAITS:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a maximum of 50 pounds to a maximum height of 2 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a distance of 100 feet.
  • Must possess the ability to make decisions, problem solve, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism.
  • Must possess the ability to work tactfully with residents, staff, visitors and the interdisciplinary team.
