Job description

Purpose:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for preventing and correcting maintenance on light rail vehicle’s mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Primary Responsibilities

• Repairs light rail vehicle systems and equipment.
• Inspects vehicles as scheduled for corrective and preventive maintenance, minimizing equipment downtime.
• Completes preventive maintenance as scheduled, minimizing equipment downtime.
• Utilize bench and portable test equipment for diagnosing, testing and repairing light rail vehicle equipment.
• Operates large & specialty shop equipment as needed to perform tasks.
• Reads technical manuals and parts catalogs as required.
• Responsible for department compliance with all current company policies and procedures.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by maintenance team leadership.

Requirements:

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Previous mechanical experience with electrical knowledge strongly preferred.
• Professional demeanor and ability to work in teams.
• Ability to follow directions and instructions from maintenance team leadership.
• Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.
• Ability to perform inspections/repairs in a timely manner.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
• Must be willing and able to work various shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $26.00 per hour
