Position Description:

To ensure that the facility and equipment are in good repair and operation with regard to health, comfort, safety, and well-being of residents as established by a written routine maintenance and repair program. This job is in accordance with the established state and federal regulations and the facility philosophy, policies and procedures, and to understand the concept of and be committed to the Moorhead Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center mission by demonstrating behaviors consistent with the Moorhead Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center Mission Statement.

Essential Job Functions:

Carry out all assigned work given by maintenance director.

Assist in carrying out timely preventative maintenance on all equipment and all areas of the buildings, grounds, and equipment.

Inform maintenance director of any safety concerns regarding equipment, grounds, and buildings.
Ensure quality customer service to the Residents, families, and staff the department serves.
Organize and maintain all records necessary.

Use proper care and use of equipment and waste disposal procedures in accordance with corporate policies and procedures..

Work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.


Consistently work cooperatively with Residents, staff, volunteers, and families to ensure Residents are receiving the best quality care.

Observe all community policies and procedures, including but not limited to safety, infection control, Residents' rights, and those contained in the employee handbook. Maintain the confidentiality of all protected health information whether electronic, written, or oral exposed to either during the course of assigned duties or as a result of an incidental disclosure.

Apply the Minimum Necessary Standard in all matters related to Residents' protected health information.

Able to cover on call every other weekend and 2 weeknights each week.

Non Essential Job Functions:

Ensures garbage and recycling is properly disposed of. Answer telephones.

Push and pull wheel chairs.

Qualifications:

High school graduate or GED required.

Previous maintenance or construction background preferred.

General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and construction required. Able to follow written and oral directions.

Ability to work independently.

Possess the ability to communicate effectively and deal tactfully with personnel, Residents, families, and visitors.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
