Experience: One year of maintenance experience required. Some knowledge in carpentry, electrical or plumbing preferred.
Physical Requirements: Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants or other chemical or controlled substances. Significant, prolonged, and frequent amounts of walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, and lifting of 70 lbs or more.

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New York provides programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses. Located in Red Hook, NY (12571), this position is responsible for maintaining a safe and homelike environment for individuals in our campus program. Duties may involve grounds keeping, general maintenance repairs, snow removal, transporting, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, or basic electrical knowledge. The Maintenance Specialist will be required to remain on-call (rotating) for emergencies, complete assigned jobs within a reasonable amount of time, assist others in performing various duties, and maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.

Education: High School Diploma required. Will be waived if candidate can demonstrate five (5) years experience in building maintenance, in an institutional setting.
