Environmental Field Technician:
Clean Harbors, Inc, the nation’s largest provider of environmental services has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Environmental Field Technician to maintain groundwater treatment facilities in the Norwell, Massachusetts area.
Position Summary:
  • The Technician will be responsible for treatment system operation checks and maintaining system operations.
  • Principle duties include:
  • Complete site visits and checking groundwater treatment systems
  • Site operation checks including monitoring gauges, meters and control panels and recording and interpreting readings.
  • Observes variations in operating conditions.
  • Trouble shoots and completes system repairs of valves and pumps where needed
  • Assists in the operations and maintenance of groundwater treatment equipment, including confined space entry and OSHA-Level C activities.
  • Performs housekeeping, grounds keeping, minor maintenance and other duties as necessary.
  • Collect and process water samples.
  • Coordinates with the management team regarding the purchase of goods and services.
  • This is a full-time position.
  • Candidates looking for part time work will be considered.
Qualifications Required:
  • High School diploma and a minimum 5 year demonstrated background in water / wastewater treatment.
  • 40 Hour Hazardous Waste Operations certification (HAZWOPER) preferred but will be provided if necessary.
  • Candidate must be a self-starter, with a high commitment to Health & Safety.
  • Must have demonstrated reading / writing skills including the ability to read, interpret and utilize information contained within blueprints, schematics, technical manuals and equipment specifications.
