Job description
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Manager will report to the Regional Maintenance Manager and will support all duties associated with maintaining company equipment in compliance with the FMCSA, Safety, MOT, and DOT guidelines. This role is responsible in coordinating and planning maintenance for all company equipment.
- Plan and oversee company equipment.
- Scheduling PM services on a weekly basis.
- Establish and maintain a Preventative Maintenance Program that will ensure equipment is kept in compliance with FMCSA and DOT guidelines
- Oversee effective computerized maintenance management system (TMT)
- Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
- Recruit service vendors as needed.
- Coordinate needed equipment repairs between shops and plants.
- Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance tracking.
- Negotiate repair costs and approve repair expenses up to an authorized limit.
- Keep track of company equipment in all shops.
- Maintain and Update Breakdown Report as needed.
- Participate in weekly Manager Meeting
- Have weekly meeting with Maintenance Team
- Conduct bi-annual performance reviews with staff.
- Maintain DOT compliance and documentation.
- Review and approve work orders and invoices.
- Perform other duties upon request.
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft word/excel)
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent leadership and management skills
- Ability to understand cost and budget principles
- Solid understanding of DOT regulations
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Must be able to work seated using a computer and phone for long periods of time
