MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ø Assist in repair, modification, preventative maintenance, new construction, and everyday non-officer security involved in maintaining the Facility

Ø Ability to help troubleshoot and diagnose maintenance problems, then decide on and execute a course of action to make safe and accurate repairs

Ø Minor A/C repairs and preventative maintenance on A/C units

Ø Any plumbing repairs that are required

Ø Ability to make minor electrical repairs in a safe manner

Ø Ability to work well with others in a team atmosphere providing maintenance service to the multiple departments in the facility

Ø Be available on call as needed

Ø Any other duties as assigned

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

Ø Maintenance experience required;

Ø Heating/Air Conditioning experience preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, climb, lift up to 50+ lbs, talk, listen, read, and write.

· Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, crawl, reach, push, pull, and climb as needed to perform work

· Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds

· Will be exposed to a variety of smells, temperatures, noises, chemicals, and moving mechanical parts associated with HVAC systems, construction, and/renovation.

· Repetitive climbing of stairs to reach the assigned areas and working at heights

· Exposure for up to 12 hours or more per shift of outdoor elements and temperatures with scheduled breaks

· Ability to hear and understand oral communication

· Frequent grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting

Salary: Range is $15.30 - $17.50/hour, but depends on experience.
