Job description
Delmar and Rehab and Nursing is seeking a motivated individual to join our maintenance team! This position will report to the Maintenance Director.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required
2. 1 year of maintenance experience
3. Experience with hand tools, painting equipment and general maintenance
4. Must maintain a valid driver’s license
Special Requirements:
1. May be required to work holidays, weekends, or shifts other than those regularly assigned
2. Capable of calm, deliberate, & calculated action in response to urgent situations & emergencies
3. Ability to read and understand pertinent equipment instructions, blueprints, and maintenance manuals
Physical Demands:
1. Ability to spend 4-6 hours daily standing, sitting, kneeling, climbing, or on ladders
2. Ability to lift 50-80 lbs. while assisting with maintenance of equipment and performance of duties.
3. Must have normal, or corrected to normal, vision & hearing to effectively accomplish job duties
4. Ability to wear mask or respirator & work in confined areas.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Responsible for assisting with proper maintenance of equipment to ensure proper operation & quality care
2. Performs repair and painting of building as required
3. Performs basic electrical, mechanical and plumbing skills
4. Evaluate, assess, and diagnose problems both independently and as a team
5. Assists maintenance mechanic with work and repairs as necessary
6. Professional communication with co-workers, staff, and residents
7. Assists in the department as assigned
8. Adheres to all policies/procedures, uniform codes, and regulations of facility
9. Available on demand for call ins on nights and weekends
10. Reports grievances, complaints, problem areas, hazards immediately and assists with maintaining good inter and intra department and internal/external customer relations
