Summary of Essential Job Functions for a Machinist:

• Position will include light fabrication, making jigs, fixtures, and special lots of copper electrodes.
• Perform all duties according to company standards and safety procedures and maintain acceptable attendance record

Minimum Requirements needed to apply for the Machinist position:

· Formal machinist training required

· Experience in operating manual milling machines, lathes and drill presses

· Must be a self-starter capable of working with general instruction and minimal supervision

· Ability to stand for extended periods of time

· Ability to work individually or as part of a team

· Able to work overtime, including Saturdays, as required

Qualifications/Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent, Associates Degree preferred.

Industry specific training in a related field (tool and die, machining, etc.)

At least five years’ experience in a machine shop.

Ability to read/comprehend drawings and other written instructions.

Physical Requirements:

· Physical Ability to stand for long periods of time, up to 6+ hours per day and walk frequently.

· Physical Ability to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movements.

· Physical Ability to use close, distance, color and peripheral vision.

Working Environment:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to the potential of electrical shock and moving mechanical parts. The noise level of this environment is moderately to highly noisy. Employees are required to wear the proper PPE for the task. The temperature is comfortable, but areas of heat may be encountered.
