Primary Location US-NY-GLENS FALLS


SUMMARY: To maintain clean, changeover, modify and improve new and existing molds and consult with Tooling Engineers on all improvements and re-building of tools and tooling components.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Mold changeovers
  • Fabricate mold components
  • Troubleshoot mold tooling and processing APO’s
  • Introduction of new tooling and setup procedures into the system
  • On-going tooling education through exposure to new sophisticated and technologically advanced tooling
  • Interfacing with Planning to accomplish best changeover sequence
  • Ability to foresee probable tooling APO’s through prior experience
  • Maintain safe, neat orderly working environment
  • Interface with MQS to attain quality parts
  • Interface with Engineering to maintain proper communication
  • Interface with Mold Processing Techs and Mold Op’s
  • Train new mold techs
  • Manages in order to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory/legal requirements
  • Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements
  • May perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to actively communicate with Production Coordinator and/or Production Supervisor. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School or GED Level of Degree in the general education field of study preferred
  • 2 years of demonstrated experience in working with injection molding machinery

CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Education documentation is required. Any other licenses or registrations to Professional Societies are to be provided by the candidate at his/her discretion.



REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to define and analyze problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions is required
  • Must be able to work alone with minimal supervision or direction
  • Ability to seek guidance with superior when necessary.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read, write and compute basic math
  • Basic machine shop skills acquired by on-the-job training or programmed training
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic principals
  • Ability to take direction
  • Self-motivated, flexible and cooperative
  • Excellent hand and eye coordination
  • Demonstrated decision making skills and effective problem solving abilities
  • Knowledge of correct machine set-up and operation to meet quality and efficiency standards
  • Ability to read and interpret a variety of customized blue prints
  • Proficient in the following computer software applications: Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

  • Work safely and follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures.
  • For all on-the-job injuries or accidents, must notify manager/supervisor immediately.
  • Exposure to Manufacturing Clean Room environment
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 35lbs
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs
  • Ability to regularly stand and walk to perform production tasks. Required to perform repetitive movement while demonstrating proficient hand and eye coordination, hand dexterity and good vision.
  • Continual attention to the accuracy of documentation
